When I work on a painting, one stroke determines the next, each color influences the others. It is a journey that has no map.

I go into the liveliness and complexity of an abstract world that has similarities to our natural world and reflects the struggles of survival, regeneration, acceptance, and hope. I look for rich comparisons and diverse energies.

For me, each finished painting must record a journey to a place that is worth going to, and it must reward the viewer who looks closely.
